    The Social Innovation Challenge is a programme that funds and supports innovators to kick-start solutions that tackle some of the most pressing challenges of our time.

    They will accept eligible applications addressing any one of the following four themes:

    • Eradicating child poverty
    • Growing the economy
    • Tackling the climate emergency
    • Ensuring high quality and sustainable public services

    The winner can use the funding to help with start-up fees, research and development, salaries and other essential costs, such as rent or buying critical equipment.

    Who can apply?

    • Established social enterprises
    • Unincorporated groups or community associations
    • Individuals with an idea for a new project

    How to apply

    Submit an expression of interest on the Firstport website by clicking here. If shortlisted, you will be invited to pitch your idea to a panel.

    The closing date for applications is Monday 20 July 2026.
