  • Anstruther Repair Cafe Opens at Dreel Halls

    Created: 16/06/2026
    News/Events Category: Climate/Environment

Anstruther Repair Cafe has officially opened!

At their first-ever session, a small team fixed 17 items in just two hours! They darned holes in sweaters, mended rips in trousers, fixed electrical faults with lamps, and sorted out a mechanical fault in a juicer.

They also advised on a broken garden chair and showed some young people how to use a sewing machine.

The team saved 19 kilos of broken items from landfill.

They met some lovely people who came and brought things to be fixed, or just had a look and a chat with a cup of tea and excellent cake.

The groups said a thank you to all the volunteers who helped organise the event, providing delicious home baking and repairing items!

The next Repair Cafe takes place 2.00 - 4.00pm, on Saturday 08 August 2026, at Dreel Halls, High Street, Anstruther KY10 3DJ. Everyone welcome!
