The Fife Rural Development Fund 2026-2027 Community-Led Local Development (CLLD) programme is now open for expressions of interest from applicants delivering community-focused revenue projects across rural Fife.

'Community-led' local development gives rural communities in Fife the power and resource to identify and respond to their own local challenges. By building knowledge and skills, supporting new ideas, offering training opportunities, and encouraging co-operating and partnership working, CLLD helps to create viable and resilient communtiies.

To qualify for funding, projects must meet at least one of the Fund's priorities for this year:

    • Rural community capacity building
    • Nature and climate
    • Health and wellbeing
    • Enhanced natural/cultural heritage, and rural tourism and leisure

All projects must allow for equal access requirements, diversity and inclusion.

This is what they mean by these terms:

    • Community capacity building is the support that community groups access to help them address issues which are important to them, for example (but not limited to), skills, knowledge, resources, access to rural services
    • Nature and climate represents increasing access to natural spaces for everyone, increasing biodiversity, better conservation and adaptation for nature, and action to reduce damage to nature
    • Health and wellbeing covers any community action to improve the mental and physical health and well-being of local people, for example social isolation and intergenerational activities
    • Natural/cultural heritage, rural tourism and leisure covers anything that adds value to your local area in terms of natural or historical interest and attracts local people and visitors for recreation and tourism.

All projects must be completed by 28 February 2027.
