    Created: 05/03/2026
    News/Events Category: Funding and Finance
This item will show under the following categories: Children and Families   Health and Social Care

Grants are targeted to further the potential and opportunity of children and young people who are surviving abuse, at risk of or experiencing homelessness, caring for a loved one, and challenged by addiction (either personally or through a member of their family).

They have several funding streams, each with slightly different eligibility criteria.

    • Project Funding: Grants for charities to deliver a project for young people, aged 18 years old or under, aligned to the prioritised themes. (England only)
    • Shine Bright Long Term Funding: two-year unrestricted grants for registered UK charities delivering bold and innovative ideas that go beyond short-term fixes, targeting the underlying causes of issues facing vulnerable children.
    • Child Poverty: two-year grants dedicated to supporting UK charities committed to ending child poverty. These long-term, unrestricted awards give organisations the freedom to act strategically – addressing the many interconnected factors which trap children in poverty, rather than being limited to a single project.
    • Social Impact Funding: two-year unrestricted grants for UK charities tackling key societal issues affecting young people.
    • Individual Funding: one-off grants made via safeguarding professionals to meet a critical need of an individual child in care, facing abuse, addiction, homelessness or carer responsibilities.
    • Apprenticeships: Grants for organisations to support staff apprenticeship training that will positively impact young people aged 18 years and under, aligned to their prioritised themes.

    Who can apply?

UK charities delivering a project for young people aged 18 years and under. Applicants must have a turnover of under £1.5m. Eligibility criteria may vary for funding scheme, see website for details.

    Maximum annual income: £1,500,000
