  • Freelance Project Coordinator/Volunteer Development - The Patons of Dunfermline SCIO

    Created: 05/03/2026
    News/Events Category: Job Vacancies

    Post: Freelance Project Coordinator/Volunteer Development
Organisation: The Patons of Dunfermline SCIO
Contract: Funded April 2026 until April 2028
    Hours: Part-time
Salary: A daily rate of £250 (or £125 per half day) will be paid to cover all costs including NI and tax

The Patons of Dunfermline SCIO are seeking an enthusiastic and creative person, with some knowledge and experience of working in the Dunfermline area to provide appropriate coordination, support and development to the vibrant and active group of volunteers already involved with the Wooers' Alley project.

Wooers' Alley garden is located in the heart of Dunfermline and is being gradually cleared and restored by a committed team of volunteers, working with West Fife Woodlands and Clean Up Fife, to transform what was a neglected and overgrown area of woodland back to its former glory so that locals and visitors can enjoy it again.

Some knowledge and interest in the role and history of the Patons of Dunfermline family would be an added advantage. Experience of supporting a team of volunteers, and some experience of gardening, is essential. A basic level of first aid is desirable.

This is a freelance part time role, funded by the Lottery over a two-year period between April 2026 - April 2028. It requires the post holder to work flexibly in terms of time, location and role. Some home working will be required, and some travel is anticipated although much of the work will be on location.

A daily rate of £250 (or £125 per half day) will be paid to cover all costs including NI and tax. A small allowance for travel will be paid in addition to this daily rate.

    How to apply

Full role details can be found on their website at https://www.patons-dunfermline.com

Interested applicants should send a current CV and covering letter to the Chair of the Patons of Dunfermline Board of Trustees, Diana Paton at [email protected]

The closing date for applications is Friday 20 March 2026.
