Refugee Festival Scotland: Open for Registration, Applications, Funding and More!
Created: 28/01/2026Refugee Festival Scotland returns this summer from Friday 12 to Sunday 21 June 2026.
Event registration is now open as are applications for funding opportunities and the 2026 Programming Fellowship.
They're also recruiting volunteers to join their funding Evaluation Panel.

Register an event
Every year groups, organisations and individuals organise and attend hundreds of fantastic festival events in locations across Scotland.
If you’d like to run an event as part of the festival, please take a moment to read the event guidelines in this page.
All event proposals are welcome, and in 2026 we are particularly interested in seeing events that focus on celebration, collaboration and building a shared future.

Small Grants Fund
Groups and organisations can apply for up to £750 to help cover the costs of running a Refugee Festival Scotland event.
The fund is open to constituted groups and organisations that are led by refugees, or that support people seeking safety as part of its work.

Arts Open Funding
Would you like funding and support to share your art with new audiences?
Arts Open presents the work of artists and performers with lived experience of the refugee and asylum system as part of the festival programme.
They are interested in platforming work from a range of disciplines, from visual arts, film and performance to spoken word, crafts, design and music production.

Programming Fellowship
The festival invite applications for this year's Festival Programming Fellowship. This is a paid, six-month learning and development opportunity for an emerging producer or curator to gain hands-on experience in festival programming.
Up to 14 hours per week on a six-month contract
Location: Glasgow
Salary: UK Living Wage
Applicants should have lived experience of seeking refugee protection.

Join their Evaluation Panel
Would you like to be part of the team that allocates funding to groups and organisations to support them to take part in the festival?
They are looking for seven volunteers to join the Small Grants Evaluation Panel. You will work alongside colleagues from the Scottish Refugee Council to assess and score funding proposals. Full training will be provided.
This opportunity is open to refugees, people seeking asylum and members of refugee community groups based in Scotland.
