Friendship Services
Community Connecting Service
If you’re over 50 and you’re feeling isolated within your local community, Age Scotland can help you find social groups and activities in your area that match your interests and abilities.
You’ll be matched with a Community Connector who will give you a call to find out more about you and things you might like to do. From social events to sports and leisure, we have a huge list of groups and events you can choose from in your area.
Friendship Calls
Do you know someone who feels lonely and could use a friendly chat? As part of our Age Scotland Friendship Services, we make free weekly calls for companionship and support to older people across Scotland.
Having a conversation can have such a positive impact, and our friendship caller volunteers are on hand to talk about many things, from the latest TV shows to the most dunkable biscuits!
If you, a neighbour, or a loved one would benefit from receiving a call, please call the Age Scotland Helpline free on 0800 12 44 222. Lines are open Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.
