It is too late to book a place for this particular session, sorry about that.

Please note: This event is only for third sector organisations that currently operate in the Cowdenbeath locality.  There will be further sessions for other localities in the future.

This interactive session will help third sector organisations to understand how No Wrong Door will operate in the Cowdenbeath locality.  No Wrong Door is a key strategic change being undertaken within Fife Council to ensure services move from being service-centric to person-centric.  This new approach will be rolled out across Fife, but is being developed in the Cowdenbeath area and will go live in August 2025.

Whilst this approach is primarily about Council services, staff and interactions with citizens, there is an obvious requirement for third sector services to understand the approach and - crucially - align with the approach.  This will result in different ways of working, and is likely to impact on how services are commissioned/funded.  There are implications for referals, pathways, partnership working and new approaches to delivering services in the locality.

This strategic change will be significant, and is being driven by a need to move to early intervention and prevention, to tackle poverty and inequality and avoid issues becoming more complex, disruptive and costly to society.

Most of us have experienced challenges of contacting large organisations or businesses for help and being passed from one department to another, having to explain our issue over and over, and struggling to get the help we actually need.  No Wrong Door is specifically designed to address this - reducing confusion, making the process simpler and seamless by bringing services together in an innovative way.

This move from “service-centric to person centric” will require a re-design of the way the Council itself works, as well as the way it works with partners in the third sector, wider public services, and the community.

Come along to hear from James Ross, Head of Service, Children and Families and Justice Social Work Services and, Chief Social Work Officer who is leading the design and implementation of No Wrong Door in Cowdenbeath.

The session will feature round-table discussions on challenges and opportunities for third sector organisations operating in the Cowdenbeath locality, to help ensure this approach benefits as many of our service users as possible, and the skills, talents and resources of our sector benefit local citizens.
