The summit in full swingFVA's Volunteering Development Summit offers an engaging learning and development opportunity for anyone in the third sector who involves, supports, and manages volunteers in Fife.
Held during Volunteers' Week, delegates attended the summit on Thursday 05 June 2025 to hear the latest updates on volunteering development, take part in hot topic discussions to ensure their voice is heard, and make connections with other volunteer coordinators and managers.
The event included table hop sessions to discuss key topicsDelegates selected and participated in discussions focused on a diverse range of pressing issues such as promoting inclusion, engaging with young people through Youth Philanthrophy Initiative, maintaining the health and wellbeing of staff and volunteers, developing staff and volunteers with Openlearn resources, tackling climate action and youth volunteering - all of which are having a significant impact on volunteering involving organisations.
Dawn Fisher from NHS Scotland provided an overview of the impact of volunteering in NHS settings in Scotland.
In addition to the presentations and table hops sessions, organisations showcased how they work with their volunteers, and there was a 'thank you' wall where organisations could express thanks to volunteers for their dedication.
Over 70 people attended the summit from volunteer involving organisations all across Fife.
The summit is a full-day event with lunch provided, and is a must-attend for anyone who manages or recruits volunteers in Fife's third sector.
