Fife Voluntary Action (FVA) is now an accredited Living Hours and Living Pension employer, awarded by the Living Wage Foundation.

Living Hours ensures that everyone has the secure working hours they need to thrive, giving employees’ at least four weeks’ notice for shifts, and a guaranteed minimum 16 hours per week contract for all who want it.

With rising costs and an uncertain future for pensions, the Living Pension equates to a 12% pension contribution from both employer and employee. This move provides workers with financial security now and in the future, ensuring employees have what they need to thrive in retirement.

In addition to Living Hours and Living Pension, FVA became a real Living Wage employer in 2014, an early adopter in Fife.

FVA is the first employer in Fife to have triple accreditation with the Living Wage Foundation, the only third sector interface (TSI), and only the sixth employer in the whole of Scotland.

Kenny Murphy, Chief Executive of FVA said “We are committed to giving our employees a fair deal, rewarding their hard work and commitment despite the many financial pressures we face as an organisation. Our Board of Trustees has been fully committed to taking steps to ease financial stress on our employees, such as pensions. There are many real Living Wage accredited third sector organisations in Fife and we strongly encourage them to explore further accreditation to make our sector more robust and sustainable.”

Kerry Bates, HR Manager at FVA said “We’re proud to be triple accredited with Living Wage Foundation, joining a movement of organisations committed to ensuring everyone is paid a fair wage, offered fair, and receives a pension that will help them considerably in their retirement.”
