Being a charity Trustee is one of the most rewarding ways you can contribute to an area you care about. Whether you’re passionate about human rights, educational inclusion, environmental protection or cultural heritage, as a trustee you have an important role within your organisation.

Unfortunately, charities are increasingly becoming the targets for cyber criminals. Cyber attacks are becoming increasingly sophisticated but a simple thing such as clicking on a link is still a very common way by which cyber criminals gain access to your organisation’s data. In the face of this, it’s important to ensure that you have cyber resilience embedded in your organisation and it’s also important to make sure that your own cyber security skills match the current threat landscape.

In this hour-long session, Lead Scotland will cover why trustees need to think about cyber resilience, the current threat landscape, key measures to manage your personal cyber security, strategies for managing data security, and key advice on safe methods of data sharing. They will also provide links and resources for further learning opportunities, as well as answering any questions you may have.

Disabled people are under-represented on Boards across Scotland. They are particularly keen to have sign ups from disabled people who are Trustees or disabled people who are thinking about becoming a Trustee however the session is open to all Trustees and potential Trustees.
