  • Henry Smith Charity - Strengthening Communities

    Created: 09/06/2024
    News/Events Category: Funding and Finance

The Strengthening Communities grant programme is designed to support small charitable organisations working at grassroots level in the most disadvantaged areas of the UK (10% most deprived), targeting places that are economically marginalised and affected by poverty.

They will fund work that enables:

    • People from across the community to participate in activities which improve connectedness, opportunities, and wellbeing
    • People who are excluded, vulnerable, or facing other forms of hardship to have access to community-based services that support positive lasting change
    • A stronger, active, more engaged community

    Who can apply

They primarily fund registered charities, but are willing to make grants to other types of not-for-profit organisations, such as Community Interest Companies (CICs) or constituted community groups if they can explain how they would use our funding for charitable purposes. Grants are only made to organisations with an annual income of between £20k and £500k working within the bottom 10% most deprived areas for England and Scotland

    Minimum annual income: £20,000

    Maximum annual income: £500,000

    How to apply

Application form and guidance can be found on the Charity's website.

The closing date for applications is 5.00pm on Friday 28 June 2024.
