    Created: 30/05/2024
    News/Events Category: General News

The Tackling Poverty and Preventing Crisis Board met on Monday 20 May 2024 at the Citizen's Advice and Right's Fife Offices, Glenrothes. The focus of this meeting was to discuss the evaluation findings of the Cost of Living and Winter Programmes.

    Key findings:

    • Staff are committed to providing ‘wrap around’, holistic support and this is helping people to get all the help they need
    • More training for frontline of staff is needed and more messaging that prevention and support is ‘everyone’s job’
    • There is a need to prioritise prevention above crisis support
    • Joined up offers of support are effective in reaching people
    • More work needs to be done to support people with personal experience of poverty to be able to influence change at higher levels of council decision making
