  • NHS Fife - Pain Talking resource hub

    Created: 23/05/2024
News/Events Category: Health and Social Care

Chronic pain is a complex condition and a recent Scottish Health Survey indicated it affected 38% of the adult population in Scotland. Doctors' understanding of the way we manage chronic pain has changed and we all need to think differently.

Several resources have been developed in response to the ask of people with lived experience and clinicians who support them, following extensive consultation in year 1 of the NHS Fife High Risk Pain Medicine Patient Safety Programme.

The launch of “Pain Talking”, a web based resource hub to support people living with pain, will begin on Monday 27 May.  The hub has a wealth of information about pain, pain medicines and different ways to help manage pain. It includes a large number of resources available in Fife and how to access them, featuring links to a number of Fife's third sector organisations.

The hub can be found at www.nhsfife.org/pain-talking
