    Post: Sessional Tutor (Numeracy) 
    Salary: £28.35 per hour
    Location: Fife

    WEA have an exciting opportunity for sessional tutors (numeracy) to join their Scotland team. WEA have a wide range of curriculum on offer which is their most powerful and important tool in meeting the needs of learners and communities, regardless of their starting point or educational need. They bring learning to the learner, whether it's in a local trusted venue or their living room via online learning. 

    You will be working on their Multiply programme in Fife providing the highest quality teaching and learning to a group of learners, both face-to-face in a classroom and in online classroom environments. 

    Key areas of responsibility include:  

    • Providing engaging teaching, learning and assessment with a creative and supportive approach to learning 
    • Adapting to a range of learning styles with the ability to differentiate delivery to learners with mixed abilities 
    • Undertaking effective initial assessments and diagnostic activities
    • Preparing course materials, ensuring a wide range of formative and summative assessment practices which motivates and stretches learners to reach their objectives 
    • Plan, prepare and teach courses face-to-face and online using Zoom/Teams and Canvas (WEA's virtual learning environment) 
    • Support the wider delivery of quality curriculum that enhances the work of the association

    About You 

    Are you passionate about lifelong learning? Join the UK's largest voluntary sector adult education provider. As a tutor, you should have: 

    • Teaching qualification or equivalent experience (PCGE, CertEd, DET or equivalent), SCQF level 7/8 
    • Experience of design and implementation of innovative learning, schemes of work and lesson plans 
    • Experience in a range of initial assessment and diagnostic tools 
    • A thorough understanding of adult learning in Scotland and the quality processes that underpin your delivery
    • Experience of working with adults in hard-to-reach areas who may face multiple barriers to education
    • A strong work ethic 
    • A passion for adult education and making a difference
