Human Rights Awareness-raising Training from Mind our Rights Education Programme (MORE-P)
Created: 04/01/2024Fife Peer Support Network and the Lived Experience Team are delighted to be hosting this Human Rights Awareness-raising training from the Mind Our Rights Education Programme (MORE-P) with a particular focus on human rights in mental health, delivered by the Royal Edinburgh Hospital (REH) Patients Council.
MORE-P was created jointly by REH Patients Council, CAPS, and Edinburgh Carers Council. It uses an integrative, participatory approach to raise awareness of the implications of the fast-changing political and legal landscape for both people working in and people using mental health services. The training is informed by World Health Organisation guidance and has been developed and is being delivered by people with lived experience of mental health issues.
The training is interactive and intended to facilitate discussion within the group, making learning about human rights enjoyable while still being challenging. The sessions last for 2.5 hours including a 20 minute break midway.
This training will take place in the Training Room, New Volunteer House, Kirkcaldy.
Find out more about MORE-P here.
This training is open to all members of the Fife Peer Support Network, Lived Experience Team, and people with lived or living experiences of mental health challenges or their carers.
