    The Trustees prefer applications to fall into one of the five core categories below, although applications that fall outside these will be considered in exceptional circumstances:

    • Arts and Heritage
    • Economic or social disadvantage
    • Education
    • Environment
    • Health

    There are no focus areas within the categories of Arts and Heritage, Education or Environment.

    Applications for the Health category, must have a focus on one of the following:

    • programmes and activities that aim to support, maintain and improve mental health in any demographic
    • health care for older people

    Fund award sizes

    Minimum - £2,500

    Maximum - £25,000

    Notes on award amounts - Annual total for UK from 2023 accounts. In 2022 they awarded three grants in Scotland totalling £49,963.

    Who can apply

    • Charities registered in any part of the United Kingdom.
    • Minimum annual income £50,000

    Exclusions

    Trustees do not fund political parties, promotion of religion, charities outside the UK, expeditions or individuals.

    Applicants that are unsuccessful may re-apply to the Trust from 12 months after the date of their most recent application. Applicants that are awarded a grant must leave a year following the date of the final payment before applying for another grant.

    The closing date for applications is Thursday 11 April 2024. Applicants are encouraged to submit applications early in the application period to allow more time for review.
