FVA lunchtime learning sessions are aimed at raising the skills and capacities of local third sector providers interested in improving or enhancing their provision in Fife.
Third sector organisations play a key role in growing community capacity and often employability skills in Fife. They are also important employers in their own right.
Fife Council coordinate a number of employer recruitment incentives (ERIs) under the banner of the Fife Job Contract. These funds are available to organisations of all sizes and can support salary costs of traineeships or new posts for people who may require a little extra support to make the step into work.
As of April 2022 this will also include Community Jobs Scotland funds, which have previously been ring-fenced for the third sector and managed through the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO).
At this session Grant Leaburn, and Andy Brown, Employability and Skills from Fife Council will give an overview of the key types of ERI funding available and how to access it including:
- An overview of the funds included under Fife Job Contract: Scottish Employer Recruitment Incentive; Young Person’s Guarantee; Kickstart and local authority funding;
- The kind of posts and opportunities that would be eligible for Fife Job Contract funding;
- The financial and administrative process, support for, and requirements of, employers;
- Priority groups Opportunities Fife Partnership are seeking to support through these schemes.
Participants will also hear about funding available for ‘community works’ style placements and small capital grants for community projects.
