FVA Lunchtime Learning sessions to support third sector in Fife

FVA lunchtime learning sessions are aimed at raising the skills and capacities of local third sector providers interested in improving or enhancing their provision in Fife.

Social Security Scotland has undergone a number of significant developments in 2020 and 2021 and multiple new benefits have been rolled out since autumn 2020, with more to come.  Many of these benefits, which are specifically targeted to those in particularly difficult circumstances, are unfamiliar to third sector practitioners and their clients.  Social Security Scotland will also be changing the way it interacts with and responds to clients in the future.

Lynsey Maricic, Local Delivery Relationship Lead for Fife and Dundee, Social Security Scotland will introduce us to a wide range of benefits now available, and will guide us through Social Security Scotland’s plans for the future.

    Learning outcomes will include:

    • Understanding of the range of benefits available to support families with young children, including:
      • Child Disability Payment
      • Scottish Child Payment
      • Best Start Grant Pregnancy and Baby Payment
      • Best Start Grant Early Learning Payment
      • Best Start Grant School Age Payment
      • Best Start Foods
    • Social Security Scotland’s face-to-face service launching in autumn 2021
    • The client experience process
