As part of Volunteers' Week 2021, we are delighted to officially launch our new Step into Volunteering training programme.

This training programme is for anyone who would like to start or is thinking about starting, volunteering in Fife. It consists of three stages of specialised training, all of which are delivered online.

We aim to create a supportive and inclusive space so that everyone can contribute and enjoy the training.

We will introduce you to the world of volunteering and the variety of roles and opportunities that are available. We will help you prepare for starting your journey as a volunteer, including what to expect, the benefits of volunteering, and helping you to decide how much time you wish to commit.

The training will also include practical support, ranging from completing volunteer application forms, preparing to meet your chosen charity, and what to expect in terms of the support that will be provided whilst you are volunteering.

The training is delivered as an overall programme, and you will need to attend all three stages. You will receive a certificate on completion of the training.

Stage 1: Introduction to Volunteering and the Benefits of Volunteering - 10:00 to 12:30 on Wednesday 23 June 2021.

    Stage 2: Boundaries and Support10:00 to 12:30 on Thursday 01 July 2021.

Stage 3: Practical Elements of Volunteering - 10:00 to 12:30 on Wednesday 07 July 2021.

All stages are delivered via Zoom, and you can book your place at the first session by clicking here.

Neil Bird, FVA's Head of Volunteering Development, had this to say about the launch of Step into Volunteering:

"A big thank you to all volunteers across Fife for your commitment to helping local causes, organisations, groups, and people during the past year. It has been a challenging time, but wonderful to see so many people offering their time to volunteer and help others. I am sure many volunteers are also ready to get back to volunteering as they did before the pandemic and many will be wanting to start volunteering. If this is you, we encourage you to sign up for our new Step into Volunteering Training. Our new training programme will provide valuable information about volunteering and support you to take on the right volunteering role for you."

If you have any questions or wish to find out more about the training, please do not hesitate to contact one of our Volunteering Development Officers, Nicole or Susan.
