Community empowerment - your experience of participation requests and asset transfers
Created: 29/09/2020The Scottish Parliament’s Local Government and Communities Committee is doing some work on the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015 to explore what impact it has had on improving community wellbeing. As part of this, it is specifically looking at how well parts 3 and 5 of the Act, participation requests and asset transfers, are working in practice.
The Committee would like to hear directly from bodies about their views and experiences of submitting participation requests or engaging with asset transfer requests with their local authority, or other public bodies. If you have not experienced this type of engagement and you are part of a community organisation which has views on how services or assets could be better run in your area, then they would also be keen to hear your views.
If this is something you would like to be involved in, the Committee has prepared a survey to allow you to submit your views.
The closing date is 23 October 2020.
This survey should take no more than half an hour to complete. If you would like your response to be anonymous, you will have the opportunity to do that. For information on how the information from this questionnaire will be used, please see the Parliament's Privacy Notice.
Also, if you are interested in speaking to the Committee about your community and the projects you are engaged in, please contact us at [email protected] and we can liaise with Scottish Government officials to see if that might be possible.
If you have any queries about the survey or how the response will be used, please get in touch with us - [email protected]
