    Post: Cafe/Food Service Assistant

    Hours: 25 per week

    Salary: £6.15 - £8.21 per hour

    The post holder will:

    • Prepare and assist in the cooking by working as a key member of the staff team, undertaking the full range of duties in the kitchen and service areas as required.
    • Ensure the kitchen and dining areas are clean and tidy at all times.
    • Provide a friendly, efficient and hygienic service to all the Centre's customers.
    • Assist in the effective management of portion control.
    • Provide excellent customer service at the till point, cashing up at end of service and depositing the cash in line with Centre procedures. Ensure all card payments are logged.
    • Prepare menus and specials.
    • Maintain attractive displays throughout the day.
    • Liaise with Glenrothes Food Bank and be a key referrer.
    • Assist with Fairshare produce going into Community Fridge.
    • Although retail or cafe experience is desirable, it's not essential as they will make sure you know everything you need to do a great job.
