  This workshop takes place at Fife Funders' Fayre 2025 which is open to third sector organisations, community groups, voluntary organisations, and social enterprises in Fife that want to meet with a range of diverse funders to learn about the grant funding schemes that are available.

  Thinking about employing staff in your organisation but not sure where to start or what you need to do?  

  This workshop will give you the basics of what you need to know and put in place to become an employer, ensuring your organisation is legally compliant.  

  What we’ll cover: 

  • Contracts of employment and working hours 
  • Dismissing staff and redundancies 
  • Fair Work First 
  • Health and safety at work 
  • Payroll – including PAYE and HMRC requirements 
  • Pensions for your staff 
  • Recruiting and hiring 
  • Statutory leave and time off 
  • Trade unions and workers rights 

  This session will be presented by Kerry Bates, HR Manager at FVA.
