Join us for a gentle, informal introduction to peer support. This is a great opportunity to explore the role of peer support and the benefits for the person and organisations.

Through engaging and interactive activities, we’ll build our understanding of peer support – when people use their own experiences to support others – and identify where it happens already in our communities and relationships. We will demystify the myths and look at what support is available to bring in Peer roles in an effective, safe and robust way.

You don’t need any prior experience or knowledge of peer support, just an interest!

This session will be led by Kelly Laing, Peer Support Network Coordinator at FVA.

    Session aims:

    • Build our understanding of what peer support is and identify where it happens
    • Explore how peer support can be meaningful and effective
    • Demystify the Myths that surround Peer support
    • Understand the training and support available to organisations and individuals

    Who should attend?

This is open to any individual or organisation who is interested in finding out more about peer support.
