Learn how to market your charity with confidence while staying within the law.

Marketing is essential for charities – it helps raise awareness, funds, and trust. But with strict advertising and data protection rules in place, it’s vital to make sure your campaigns are both effective and legally compliant.

This workshop will guide you through the key UK regulations that apply to charity marketing and show you how to avoid common pitfalls.

This session will be led by Alex Turner, Communications and Engagement Manager at FVA.

    What you’ll learn:

    • What constitutes ‘marketing’?
    • An overview of how UK advertising and marketing laws apply to charities
    • Disclosure of charity name, charity number (if applicable), and objectives
    • Transparency of donation details
    • Avoiding exaggerated claims
    • Avoiding offensive content

    Who should attend?

    • Marketing, communications and PR teams
    • Fundraising officers
    • Directors/managers
    • Trustees/Board/Committee members
    • Anyone responsible for creating or approving marketing materials for charities

By following these guidelines, your charity can run powerful campaigns that raise awareness and funds while protecting its reputation and staying on the right side of the law.
