    About this opportunity:Age Scotland's Friendship Services aim to reduce loneliness and isolation for older people in Scotland.
    Circles offers older people the opportunity to join regular group telephone calls based around common interests, shared backgrounds, cultures or language- from gardening enthusiasts to Spanish speakers, veterans' catch-ups to David Bowie fan clubs there's a Circle for everyone!
    Circles Hosts play an important role, facilitating sessions and ensuring the conversation flows for attendees.

    Minimum age:18
    Maximum age:100
    Training provided:Full training and induction is provided via Zoom/Teams. Ongoing support in your volunteer journey and access to additional Age Scotland training opportunities; Diversity and Inclusion Training, Dementia Awareness and Older Veterans' Awareness Training etc.
    Out of pocket expenses paid?
    Yes - Age Scotland's Volunteer Expense Policy cover the costs of travel for essential volunteering purposes.

    Experience required:If you love having a chat, we'd love to hear from you! Full training on hosting group sessions and our systems will be provided.

    Restrictions on who can volunteer
    We ask volunteers to be 18 years or older for safeguarding purposes.

    Travel DetailsSessions last for 1 hour at the same time each week; anytime Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm. The time of your Circle will be agreed for mutual convenience. Circles Hosts can get involved get involved remotely or can volunteer from our Edinburgh-based offices.

    Saltire AwardThis opportunity is compatible with the Saltire Awards for volunteers aged 12-25.
