    About this opportunity:Help make a difference to the lives of adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse by volunteering as a Volunteer Group Support Worker at Safe Space, a specialist trauma agency based in Dunfermline providing one to one counselling and a range of therapeutic groups.

    They are looking for committed individuals who can provide support for Safe Space clients by volunteering alongside an established groupworker, using counselling skills in groups such as art therapy, art journalling and emotional resources. As part of this role, you will be offered ongoing support and training from experienced Safe Space staff and volunteer groupworkers which will help to further enhance your skills in trauma support and counselling.

    Training provided:Volunteers will have access to a wide range of trauma training, with an annual CPD programme of in-person workshops delivered in-house by Safe Space. Volunteers are asked to participate in monthly group supervision and ongoing training sessions to contribute to the understanding and development of others and enhance knowledge of group processes and group work.
    Out of pocket expenses paid?
    Yes - Travel expenses can be submitted monthly for up to £20 per return trip, to include parking.

    Experience required:Safe Space are looking for volunteers with COSCA certificate in Counselling Skills and some experience of counselling. Volunteers should be available for up to 20 hours of group work volunteering in a year. Further details can be provided upon application.
