    About this opportunity:DO SOMETHING AMAZING - VOLUNTEER TODAY

    RVS urgently need drivers to transport patients from across NHS Fife receiving treatment in the renal unit within 3 sites Victoria Hospital, Queen Margaret Hospital and St Andrews Community Hospital.

    The service is open 6 days a week from Mon to Sat so some degree of flexibility will be required.

    Volunteering won't just help transform the lives of the people in need, it will change your life too. A few hours volunteering will make you feel great. You will be amazed what effect one conversation, one laugh from someone who has spent days alone or a heartfelt thank you can have.

    They recruit volunteers who are caring and empathetic, and will be able to help support, reassure and offer companionship to the patients using the service.

    Training provided:Following the submission of an application form and some personal details to enable a '˜Disclosure Scotland' check, our volunteers will be required to train in the following areas: Safe & Legal, Manual Handling, Safeguarding and Lone Working. They will also be asked from time to time to update their skills in areas relating to their tasks. Volunteers will be supported by staff based in the local hospitals as well as staff at our office in East Fergus Place.
    Out of pocket expenses paid?
    Yes - Volunteers are paid at a government specified rate of 45p per mile while on duty. Volunteers are reimbursed on a monthly basis and this can take up to 7 days from receipt of their expenses.

    Experience required:They need volunteers who are caring and compassionate and want to make a difference to the lives of those whose illness limits their quality of life.
