    About this opportunity:Could you give 4 hours a week to look after the finances for the local SSAFA service in your area? You don't need a military background, just good I.T and finance skills. If so, this could be the role for you.

    There are SSAFA branches throughout the UK and each branch has a treasurer overseeing the branch finance. This is a key role involving financial planning and financial administration. This flexible role involves using SSAFA's on-line financial management system and on-line bank accounts and so can be done when and where suits you best. You will need to attend a number of branch committee meetings each year..

    You would

    -Maintain and reconcile local bank accounts and record transactions

    -Support divisions to manage their local finances

    -Make and record all authorised payments

    -Prepare year end accounts and financial statements including arranging an independent review *
    -Work with others on a local fundraising programme to cover branch running costs

    -Provide reports to the branch committee and to SSAFA's Central Office

    -Maintain accurate records using on-line finance management system

    Training provided:Support from the branch Chair, the Finance team, Volunteer Development Manager and the Volunteering Engagement Team based at SSAFA's central office. Laptop will be provided On-line training modules to complete at home, so you are up to date on how to keep clients, their families and personal information safe Treasurer training courses online or in person Access to a range of e-learning courses
    Out of pocket expenses paid?
    Yes - 45 p per mile and all out of pocket expenses covered

    Experience required:Friendly and approachable people with some experience of financial administration * Ability to be respectful and non-judgemental with volunteers, other agencies and SSAFA colleagues Experience of and willingness to use online financial administration systems/banking is preferable Reliable attitude; contact volunteers promptly, keep appointments etc. Ability to maintain confidentiality and keep information safely

    Travel DetailsFlexible role from the SSAFA office at the Army Reserve Centre, Hunter Street, Kirkcaldy, KY1 1ED with some home volunteering. A requirement to come into the office to deal with invoices/bills that are posted to the office.
