    About this opportunity:Can you to commit a couple of hours at your convenience on a weekly basis? Their core work is supporting families in their own home with Home-Visiting volunteers. Home-Start Dunfermline supports families with at least 1 child under 5 years old in Dunfermline and South West Fife Villages. They also offer a range of additional support including a weekly family group, Baby Massage classes which their Volunteers also often enlist to and offer ongoing training and support opportunities regularly for their Volunteers. Home-Start has a proven, lasting, positive impact on the development of children and the health and welfare of the family.

    Takes place:
    Minimum age:18
    Maximum age:100
    Training provided:Volunteers are asked to complete a preparation course, which normally takes place once a week for a couple of hours a day for 4 weeks, backed up with some additional on-line training. Once matched with a family, volunteers have 1:1 support sessions with their named co-ordinator every 6 weeks. There are also opportunities for group/peer support with other volunteers and ongoing training and development.
    Out of pocket expenses paid?
    Yes - 45p per mile + expenses incurred

    Experience required:A positive attitude around people no matter their age, gender, family status, religion or disability etc. A sensitive, caring and non-judgemental attitude towards others. Be clear about confidentiality, be reliable, have good communication skills and the ability to listen. Have a warm and open personality and a sense of humour.
