    About this opportunity:Just two hours out of your week could make an older persons day! Help reduce social isolation by volunteering at their social cafe in the Larick Centre, Tayport. The cafe offers older people the chance to meet others for a chat over a cuppa. Quizzes and a range of other activities are also on offer.

    You will get to know the service users and build a positive relationship with them, by:

    - meeting and greeting them as they arrive around 10.30am (we ask volunteers to arrive for 10am to help with setting up)
    - offering refreshments and clearing away at the end (finishing by 12.30pm),
    - chatting to our members and getting to know them,
    - helping members to take part in the activities where necessary, such as giving out pens and paper for the quizzes.
    - attending volunteer meetings and information sessions to help you with this role
    - raising any concerns with the Project Workers or Assistant Project Workers

    Takes place:
    Minimum age:18
    Maximum age:100
    Training provided:A volunteer handbook and training in various topics relevant to the role e.g. first aid, confidentiality, food hygiene, safeguarding are provided
    Out of pocket expenses paid?
    Yes - 60p per mile

    Experience required:You will be friendly and approachable, dependable and trustworthy. An ability to maintain confidentiality is essential while understanding the need to share information/concerns with paid (Assistant) Project Workers as required
