About this opportunity: | Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance (SCAA) saves and improves lives across Scotland, delivering expert paramedic care at the scene of time-critical emergencies. Volunteer Speakers attend pre-arranged Talks with local groups across Scotland. Speakers provide insight into the work of SCAA as well as highlighting emotional patient stories. Fundraising volunteers play a vital role in raising awareness and funds for SCAA across Scotland If you are friendly, engaging, and comfortable speaking to an audience SCAA would like to hear from you. No formal experience is necessary, as they provide training and kit needed. Talks are requested by individual organisations eg Church, Rotary and Community Groups. Therefore, talks may be scheduled in Churches, Community Halls and Hotels. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Training provided: | You will be given a Welcome induction about SCAA and their history, specialised SCAA Volunteer Speaker training. This role includes shadowing an established volunteer, a practice run and materials to ensure you are confident. Private Facebook group for volunteers to catch up and chat. Named contact with Community Fundraising Staff for support and queries. Regular updates and training. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Out of pocket expenses paid? | Yes - Reimbursement of travel expenses: public transport and mileage allowance for own car. They provide expenses forms to all volunteers. These are processed when submitted and paid via bank transfer in a timely manner. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Experience required: | Experience of public speaking is helpful, but not vital as SCAA provide support and training to develop your skills and confidence.
Passionate about raising the profile of SCAA across Scotland.
Friendly and engaging manner to speak with a diverse range of groups.

Travel Details | Talks happen all over Scotland and you may sign up to any within your local area. It helps to have your own transport; they reimburse travel expenses for both car and public transport.
Please note Talks times can last 2-3 hours and in the evenings this may prove difficult if you rely on public transport. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
