    About this opportunity:Community Champions support Action on Elder Abuse by raising awareness about safer ageing and how to keep older people safe in Fife. This may include organising coffee mornings, events and other sessions at church halls, your own home, care homes, schools, community halls, places of worship and other places in the local community i.e. garden centres and shops. Volunteers will meet other people including older people wishing to become volunteers or even reporting forms of abuse; they will also provide information about the aims of the charity, safer ageing and how to keep safe as an older person. Volunteers will, at times, be requested to participate in fundraising activities.

    Training provided:The organisation will provide comprehensive training and ongoing support, as well as certificates for completed training.

    Yes - Any phone and travel costs will be reimbursed.

    Experience required:Volunteers should: enjoy working with others; have excellent communication and listening skills; be able to build rapport with older people and/or people in distress; and be able to provide empathy, advice and support in a clear and professional manner. The Organisation will arrange and pay for relevant PVG checks.
