    About this opportunity:Social Media volunteers raise the profile of Scotland's Gardens Sheme and promote garden openings, plant sales, trails, and events. They are the voice to the wider community; the Scheme rely on them to build their networks and estrablish an online presence. Garden openings raise around 300,000 each year for charity and the social media volunteers are pivotal in encouraging people to visit the gardens. The Scheme mainly use Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and are keen to encourage local volunteers to develop local Facebook pages. the Marketing Manager and the District Team will be your main source of support. You will link directly with the Marketing Manager for training and for national PR objectives. Written guidance and useful templates are available on the Scheme's website. This role is home-based and flexible, and includes occasional visits to open garden and team meetings. It is a great way to develop marketing and communications experience.

    Training provided:Introduction and training at start of role; ongoing training opportunities during the year; support from Marketing Manager, Volunteer Manager and District Team.
    Out of pocket expenses paid?
    Yes - Travel expenses are not normally available; however, SGS do pay for travel to training events.

    Experience required:Good communication skills; a Facebook account and experience sharing information on Facebook (essential); experience of managing a facebook page (useful but not essential); experience with Instagram, Whatsapp and Twitter (advantageous but not essential), a love of gardens; enthusiastic and positive attitude; enjoy working with people.
