Crossroads Befriending is a service for adults and older people in Fife Central, Levenmouth and North-East Fife who feel socially isolated and/or lonely.
By volunteering as a befriender you will provide a vital contact for a person, and important link to the outside world that often acts as a gateway for other services and valuable support.
Befrienders are there to support a person to build confidence and to participate in the local and wider community. It is done in a safe environment for both parties involved - for example, in the person's home or out in the local community.
If you are over 16 years of age and feel you are a positive indicidual who can offer some time to a person in your local community, please contact Crossroads Befriending.
Volunteers will initially be given an induction with three training sessions that cover such things as policy and procedures, Data Protection, boundaries, lone volunteering, communication, health and safety, and volunteer practice.
