CHAS are looking for volunteer retail drivers to help with collecting and delivering items between CHAS sites and supporters. You will support with driving and loading/unloading the CHAS van in addition to general maintenance checks, cleaning and refuelling the van. They're looking for someone with a friendly and professional manner, who's over 21 years old with a full UK driving licence.
Volunteer Retail Drivers provide a vital service by helping to collect and deliver stock between the CHAS retail shops. If you are looking to meet new people and become involved in the local community, please join the friendly team of drivers and help raise funds and develop CHAS's service to children and families.
Volunteers receive a full induction as well as undergoing training modules specific to the role. All volunteers will be supported by the retail team and the Voluntary Services Coordinator to ensure they have the opportunity to enhance existing skills and to develop new ones to help them in their volunteer role.
Out of pocket expenses paid?
Yes - Yes - CHAS reimburses reasonable out-of-pocket expenses incurred in the course of volunteering, including public transport on submission of receipts /tickets and car (current mileage = 45p), every month.
Volunteer drivers should have good people skills and enjoy meeting people, have a flexible approach, be physically capable of manual work, and have a full driving licence.
This opportunity involves picking up the CHAS van from the base at Rachel House in Kinross; this will then generally involve travelling around charity shops in Kinross and Dunfermline and other sites in the local area. Further travel to other CHAS sites o
