Trustees make up the governing body of Home-Start Dunfermline and have a responsibility to ensure that the charity’s activities are carried out in accordance with the Trustee and Investment (Scotland) Act 2005. Trustees ensure that the organisation complies with requirements under both Charity and Company Laws, in addition to other laws such as Employment, Health & Safety etc. Board meetings are held bi-monthly and the Trustees take an active part in the discussions and decision-making.
Once a trustee has been elected they will work through the Home-Start induction programme. The programme will be supported, throughout, by the information and guidance within the Governance Handbook.
