Are you passionate about animal welfare? Join us and play a vital role in supporting owners and pets facing an emergency situation by coordinating (by phone or e-mail) pet foster placements in your area. PFSS provides short term foster care for pets whose owners are temporarily unable to care for them.
Area Organisers play a key role in delivering this vital service by receiving requests for fostering, assessing these for suitability and placing the pet with a local fosterer.
Other tasks include: Coordinating collection and transport of the pet Monitoring the financing of the pet’s food and vet care costs Keeping up-to-date records of each fostering Keeping in contact with and supporting pet fosterers in your area Promoting PFSS and helping to recruit foster carers in your area Building relationships with local social work departments, vets and other agencies

Out of pocket expenses paid?
Yes - Any agreed out of pocket expenses which are incurred whilst carrying out this volunteer role will be reimbursed on production of appropriate receipts, in line with the PFSS Volunteer Expenses Policy. Expenses are usually claimed monthly but can be claime
A passion for improving outcomes for pets and owners in emergency situations
Excellent telephone skills & ability to handle calls from distressed callers with empathy & compassion
Basic IT skills
Ability to problem solve & carry out volunteer role without direct supervision, resolving minor issues relating to foster placements in line with PFSS policies and procedures
Strong organisational skills
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality
