To transport and assist clients who travel to and from their homes to ACG's Active Ageing day services using own vehicle. this involves ensuring clients are comfortable and safe in your vehicle, providing assistance with seatbelts as required and transporting rollators/walking aids as required. you will assist the client to and from your vehicle when collecting them from their homes and on arrival at the centre. You will drive in a safe and lawful manner, and ensure your vehicle is well maintained with all necessary documentation and insurance in place.
Full Induction will be undertaken by their Training Coordinator including information on all their services, their values and purpose, their safety requirements, being shown round the day centre, meeting all staff and being provided with their polices and procedures. Moving and Handling and Basic Dementia Awareness training are provided at point of induction with First Aid to follow. The volunteer will have the opportunity to access any further relevant training being arranged. The Centre Manager will support the volunteer, with the Transport Coordinator providing day to day assistance regarding the volunteer driver role.

Yes - Travel Expenses are 45p per mile from the Glenrothes boundary.
They are looking for someone with driving experience who has a caring, empathic and supportive attitude. they should be good communicators, good time keepers, self motivated, flexible and able to use their own initiative. They must have a current clean driving licence, buisiness car insurance and no health conditions that may impair their ability to drive safely. First Aid Training and Moving & Handling training are desirable, however this can be provided on commencing volunteering.
