    About this opportunity:Have fun, learn new skills and make a difference to the lives of older people in your area.

    Bield's retirement housing development, Grants Bank (Dunfermline) is looking for a Gardening Activities Volunteer, to encourage, engage and support tenants in a variety of gardening activities. You will be part of a team of Social Activities Volunteers, helping to reduce isolation and loneliness by supporting older people to become more independent.

    An induction training day will be held in Fife for successful applicants and you will receive further training and ongoing support. Travel expenses will be provided.

    Applicants must have some knowledge and experience of gardening. Days and times to be agreed with manager and tenants.

    Training provided:Group training day held in Fife (date to be agreed with volunteers), Local induction at housing.
    Out of pocket expenses paid?
    Yes - Paid monthly directly into volunteer's bank account. Car users - 45 / mile (round trip up to 30 miles), and for those using public transport, up to 5 pounds per day.

    Experience required:No qualifications necessary, but they are looking for someone with knowledge and experience of gardening, who is also friendly, enthusiastic about working with older people and with good communication skills.
