Collydean Community Centre is seeking volunteer tutors to help with thier proposed homework club to help children and young people with their homework. This opportunity would suit a university student looking for teaching experience, or retired or semi-retired tutors/lecturers/teachers. They expect the club to have all age ranges from primary to secondary school attending. The centre is currently revamping its program for children and young people and by providing a homework club they are giving these children a chance to bounce ideas off each other, but to also access help and advice from experienced tutors. The time commitment would be a minimum of 2 hours a week, in the late afternoon and evenings. They are especially keen to hear from people with experience in tutoring numeracy and literacy.
No details were provided about the training made available to volunteers. Please contact us to find out more.
