Active Schools aims to provide opportunities for children and young people to participate regularly in sport and physical activity. We offer a range of extra-curricular clubs before, during and after school that are designed to increase children?s levels of physical activity and support the development of their motor skills. We are looking for volunteers who would be interested in leading or assisting at these activity clubs. Training and support is provided by Active Schools Coordinators and you would have the opportunity to learn new skills, gain experience and often qualifications. You can decide how often you would like to volunteer, we are flexible in our approach and we will work around your availability.
An Active Schools Coordinator will meet and complete an induction with you covering the following topics; Introduction to Organisation, Roles & Responsibilities, Health & Safety, Child Protection, Contact Details, Professional Development Opportunities, Training Needs Analysis & Personal Development Plan.
Training would be provided as part of our existing programme or as part of a specific pathway through a Sports / National Governing Body. Where possible we would look to cover any associated costs.
Ongoing support is provided by a dedicated Active Schools Coordinator who will be in regular contact with you and would meet with you on a termly basis.
Out of pocket expenses paid?

You don?t have to be a special type of person to volunteer, anyone can do it. Volunteering is one of the most rewarding things you can do, whilst working with children is fun.
