Volunteering with The Yard is the opportunity to be involved in excellent play opportunities for disabled children and young people and their families. The centre in Kirkcaldy is play-based, where disabled children and young people and their families can come and have fun. This opportunity would suit anyone who wants to be involved in supporting our members and their families and delivering excellent experiences along the way. Rain or shine, our playgrounds offer everything from assault courses and bikes, sand and water play, to dress-up, crafts and baking - something for everyone. Our volunteers very much enjoy being able to work with these children and young people and they get a lot of satisfaction from seeing the difference that they make in their lives.
no upper age limit has been specified
Volunteers are invited to come to the centre for a tour and to meet the team, followed by a talk about The Yard, its ethos and what is expected from every member of staff and volunteer that's involved with The Yard. There will also be a chance to look at important policies, have a chat with the rest of the team and come in for a shadow shift.
