    About this opportunity:Volunteers are required to be the face of Make-A-Wish for the family and begin the exciting journey that realises a child's one true wish. Wish Visitors play an essential role in exploring the children's imaginations.
    The role will involve:-
    Calling the family to arrange visits, prepare for the visit and ensure that it's the best possible experience for the child.
    Use a variety of tools and techniques which will inspire the imagination of the child and help you discover their One True Wish.
    Write a summary report of the child's wish and any other relevant details.
    From time to time, you may be encouraged to support the granting of a wish in your area so this may require your local knowledge for venues, services, etc.
    Volunteers will be expected to complete relevant training and ensure that you keep up to date with Make-A-Wish updates and any changes within our Wishgranting process.

    Takes place:
    Minimum age:18
    Maximum age:no upper age limit has been specified
    Training provided:Online Volunteer Welcome Induction about Make-A-Wish Specific training for the role. Ongoing support from the Volunteer Manager and other Wish Visitors and opportunity to shadow experienced Wish Visitors.
    Out of pocket expenses paid?
    Yes - Mileage paid at 45p per mile. Volunteers can claim expenses as they go.

    Experience required:Ability and confidence in talking to children. Empathetic, tactful and respectful. Excellent listening and communication skills. Be able to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries. Reliable and flexible.

    Restrictions on who can volunteer
    Role requires access to own car or good local transport links.
