We have an exceptional charity shop in Duloch where we can offer a diverse range of interesting opportunities including:customer service, sorting donations, pricing and merchandising. CHAS provides the only hospice services in Scotland for children and young people with life-shortening conditions and our services are free to families who need them. Volunteering in our shops helps raise the funds necessary support over 250 families across Scotland every year. Our volunteers help CHAS reach more families than we could possibly achieve without their enthusiasm and energetic support. Our retail team is friendly and welcoming. A current volunteer says - "we all make very good friends - I think that's one of the wonderful things about volunteering." Volunteering with CHAS is a great way to meet new people, to learn new skills and to make a huge difference to the lives of the families who use our services.
no upper age limit has been specified
Volunteers receive a full induction as well as undergoing training modules specific to the shop.
All volunteers will be supported by the retail team and the Voluntary Services Coordinator to ensure they have the opportunity to enhance existing skills and to develop new ones to help them in their volunteer role.
Out of pocket expenses paid?
Yes - CHAS reimburses reasonable out of pocket expenses incurred in the course of volunteering, including public transport on submission of receipts/tickets and car (current mileage rate = 45p), every month.
Volunteers should be friendly and outgoing, enjoy meeting people and like being part of a team.
Customer service experience would be beneficial but not essential as full training and on-going support is available for all volunteers.
