    About this opportunity:If you enjoy driving, are a car owner with a few hours to spare on an occasional basis, Medical Detection Dogs require volunteers to transport puppies, dogs, clients and equipment for both short and long distances.

    What does the role involve?
    Transporting our dogs, clients, equipment in your own vehicle.
    Ensuring your vehicle is safe and roadworthy.
    Following Medical Detection Dogs guidelines for transporting dogs.
    Keeping up to date with news and information.

    Takes place:
    Minimum age:18
    Maximum age:no upper age limit has been specified
    Training provided:Induction process. Regular and ongoing support from Medical Detection Dogs. There will be staff on-site so volunteers will always be able to access support in their role. Invitation to an awareness/speaker training day.
    Out of pocket expenses paid?
    Yes - Out of pocket expenses are reimbursed.

    Experience required:Good communication skills. Like working with dogs. Be client and customer focussed. A clean driving licence is preferred but minor driving convictions may not necessarily prevent a person from volunteering. All drivers will be expected to comply with the charity's driving licence check process. Volunteers will need to contact their motor insurer to make them aware they are a volunteer driver for Medical Detection Dogs.
