Receptionists are the first point of contact for anyone visiting the frontline office. The volunteer will make clients and visitors feel welcome, provide initial help around where to wait, how long it might take to be seen and the basic process of being seen by an adviser. The role involves working with Client Assessment Volunteers, General Advisers and Specialist staff to ensure everyone is kept informed of who may be waiting to be seen. The role also involves keeping the waiting room neat, tidy and welcoming to visitors and assisting with some administrative tasks if time allows.

Induction training and policies relevant to the role. Completion of online training 'Welcome to the CAB Service', 'Equalities and Diversity' and individual instruction on the relevant tasks to be undertaken. There is the opportunity to shadow experienced Volunteer Receptionists.
Out of pocket expenses paid?
Yes - 45p per mile or public transport costs reimbursed on a monthly basis.
Volunteers need to be friendly and approachable, with good verbal communication skills. Also need to have good IT skills, be open-minded, non-judgemental and able to maintain confidentiality.
