Have you had a personal diagnosis of breast cancer? Are you a good listener? Do you want to use your personal experience to help others in your local area? If you answered yes to the questions above this might just be perfect for you. Breast Cancer Care Scotland are looking for volunteers with the empathy and skills to support people as they move on following diagnosis and treatment for breast cancer. We understand that a person's need for support doesn't end when treatment finishes. Our Moving Forward services and information are for anyone living with and beyond breast cancer, helping them approach life after treatment with increased confidence. The services that make up Breast Cancer Care's Moving Forward package are therefore aimed at people who have finished, or are about to finish, their initial hospital-based treatment.
no upper age limit has been specified
Each successful applicant will be invited to attend the Breast cancer Care volunteer induction day and 1 day Moving Forward volunteer training. They will then be invited to shadow a 4 week programme before taking on the role themselves.
