The Trust requires a volunteer to get involved in social activities, who loves talking to older people and getting them involved, whether it's playing cards or dominoes, calling bingo numbers or holding a creative session drawing, painting or another craft skill. Sometimes just being around to befriend people and have a cup of tea with them. The Trust is a charity which brings mining families and miners' relatives along for a holiday and we offer full bed & board. The Trust has 8 day staff to deliver the services and there is a gap in the provision of entertainment/befriending/activities for the residents and we would like a volunteer to hold craft sessions, play games, or any activity that the residents are interested in. There is a minibus available for trips and someone with a full licence would be very useful. Fundraising events such as a Casino night or Murder Mystery are also held.

Training and support will be given for the time anyone is here, from basic Health & Safety to vehicle use (including tail lift usage), fire safety and further job skills in the building if the volunteers want it to help them get a full-time job.

Volunteer needs to be an outgoing, social person who enjoys people's company and making a difference to individuals or groups who just need some time and and interests to share.
Someone with arts & crafts experience would be beneficial.
Someone with a willingness to have a go and try something new.
