The Ecology Centre are an ecological charity based at Kinghorn Loch.
We host a number of volunteering activities, and our main day is Wednesday where we host a shared lunch for up to 30 volunteers. Using produce sourced mainly from our garden and working in a professional kitchen, you will be working with our facilities supervisor, creating many different meals from soups, tray bakes and puddings.
We also require help on a Thursdays preparing our meal for our dementia friendly sessions. With additional baking being produced for us in our Café
If you feel that you can help out you will be very welcomed, no skills are needed as fully training will be given including basic food hygiene certification.
We start working in the kitchen at 10AM and work through until 1400, however the amount of time you spend with us is solely down to you.
Our induction is based on meeting with you and discussing your personal needs and goals along with our health and safety policy and fire evacuation routes.
We will provide you with the opportunity to gain the basic food hygiene certification.
All our volunteers are supported by a member of staff whilst on site.
